Growing up, I didn’t have the luxury of choosing my clothes. Like many kids, my wardrobe was determined by donations, hand-me-downs, and whatever I could get. As a child, I didn’t get to decide what I wore, and I often felt disconnected from the clothes I had to wear. But as I grew older and became an adult, I found freedom in choosing my clothes. Clothing became my personal victory—it was something I could control, something I could use to express who I was and feel empowered.
